The secret to life
by chuckofish
Or as Louis L’Amour said,
“The trail is the thing, not the end of the trail. Travel too fast,
and you miss all you are traveling for.”
Enjoy the little things…
And remember…
You are not too old
and it is not too late
to dive into your increasing depths
where life calmly gives out
it’s own secret
–Rainer Maria Rilke
Have a nice Wednesday and repeat to yourself: “Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” (Emerson, of course)

Wonderful quotes–I love the Rilke. I also love that Peanuts (?) sketch–so cute.
I know, I love the Linus pic–it’s a card I bought for myself!
In the waiting room at the eye Dr. (I can never spell Opthalmo whatever surgeon). Looking at ANYTHING beats the alternative 🙂
MY Dual Personality was a bit troubled by this response. Perhaps it is dark-humor code shared mostly by older men whose ageing bodies have been amended with after-market parts, such as a coronary arterial stent or an Ahmed glaucoma valve.
In our parlance, any day we wake up and our feet land in slippers is a good day. Any day looking down at grass rather than up at roots is a good day. Any vertical day is a good day. A buzzing alarm sounds good. Six feet up beats six feet down.
Waking up is the meat. Anything else that happens is the gravy.
So my response was meant to affirm the thrust of the post – enjoy today. Enjoy the journey. Enjoy the ride.
See the little things.
If you actually have a reason to have an opthalmic surgeon – seeing ANYTHING is good!! 🙂
Great quotes and beautiful pics to inspire — but I love the coffee nips! Many happy memories there, but I don’t eat them anymore — I’m afraid my teeth will fall out.
I am very Careful when I eat them!
Yes, I thought you’d given up the Nibs! And I love how intense Linus is on the rocking horse.
I can relate so much to him.
EVERY DAY is the best day? Well…. I really should start telling myself that. 🙂
Today is the ONLY day that matters!
