That’s My King
by chuckofish
Shadrach Meshach Lockridge (1913—2000) was the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, a prominent African-American congregation located in San Diego, California, from 1953 to 1993. He was known for his preaching across the United States and around the world.
I never hear anything like this in my church. I wish I did.
Do you know Him?

I’ve never heard of him but it’s nice to hear someone be forthright and enthusiastic. These days everyone tip-toes around faith. It’s not cool in some circles as you know.
Ahem. The question posed is Do you know Him (capital H)? Lockridge asks it several times.
Okay, so I missed the capital H. But I hadn’t ever heard of him (lower case) so I guess I just naturally saw that. And I was watching at work where I had the sound turned way down so no one would hear because I’m a coward. What can I say?
WELL! That was powerful. I’m really glad you posted that. Talk about getting pumped up 🙂
and a small aside… no offense to Jim Caviezel, but Jesus will always be Robert Powell to me (and God, Ralph Richardson)
I know, right? That’s my king.
