“Turn out the lights, the party’s over”*
by chuckofish
Well, we are a week into the new year. Now that my girls have returned to their respective homes in the East, I am going to throw myself body and soul into cleaning, organizing and de-cluttering my house. (Here’s an article on Purging the Pantry.)
Because daughter #2 wanted me to keep up the tree and all the Christmas decorations for the BF when he visited, I am way behind in putting away all things Christmas. Oy.
But as I say every year, all this cleaning keeps my mind off my personal pity party. How about you? How do you deal with the ‘Mean Reds’?

There’s always retail therapy…or a good cry at a sad movie…or a great book, although I think cleaning is probably the most satisfying. I haven’t put my decorations away yet either. This weekend, for sure!
Retail therapy following Christmas is not a good idea! But this weekend will definitely be the big clean-up!
Uh oh!! This pretty much decimates your spice cabinet:
Old Spices: I tend to think that powdered spices have a longer life than Rip Van Winkle, but I’m also totally wrong; they definitely don’t last forever. If you’ve had that cinnamon since before Y2K, it’s time to toss it and give yourself the gift of actual fresh flavor.
I know, right?!
Today is a big unpacking and cleaning day for me–I’m right there with you! At least my blues are assuaged by some gift card therapy 🙂 love you!
well I’M still here! I’m dreading taking the christmas lights down. Its so darn cold!!
Yes, dear, I know! 🙂
