And that’s my opinion from the blue, blue sky

I am obsessed with this song: “Stubborn Love”. And, yes, I am 15 again. No apologies.
And by the way:
“Movement and change are the essence of our being; rigidity is death; conformity is death: let us say what comes into our heads, repeat ourselves, contradict ourselves, fling out the wildest nonsense, and follow the most fantastic fancies without caring what the world does or thinks or says. For nothing matters except life.”
Virginia Woolf, Montaigne

While I appreciate VW reminding us to embrace the wild possibilities of life, I find that I largely disagree with this quote. I guess I’m just being a stick in the mud today — first day of classes and all that! I do love the song. I think I’m going to have to buy the cd. Great find!
Well, blah, blah, blah. I’m just saying I like what I like. I’ve been “in class” all week, so I am nearing the end of my rope (and the week, thank goodness) herding cats. You should definitely get the CD.
It always seems like when I most want to scream what comes into my head without a care I’m in a crowded post office or a long line at the Ghetto Schnucks. Somehow I always manage to refrain. I really need to get a burn of that CD.
well blah, blah, blah? Now I feel sad…
I LOVE the quote (and the song!) — VW is very Emersonian. Is this from an essay or Montaigne, or what? From The Common Reader?
Somewhat embarrassed to say, I found it here:
