Friday’s movie pick

This weekend I’m going to watch Cyrano de Bergerac (1990) directed by Jean-Paul Rappeneau and starring, in the role he was clearly born to play, Gerard Depardieu. As an extra added bonus, it also features the dreamy Vincent Perez as Christian. Le sigh. But my heart belongs to Gerard. I love this movie. Definitely 5 stars.

Bravo! What panache! I also love this movie and, in fact, we’re reading the play in one of my classes next and we are also going to watch the movie — how could I miss the opportunity to share the romantic warrior poet?
I just watched the Jose Ferrer version streaming on netflix recently. Really liked it.
Jose Ferrer IS good, but Gerard is the MAN.
