Remember a little while ago when we had a conversation about how Raymond Chandler died? Well, I looked it up. Turns out he died of pneumonial shock. He and his wife, who died shortly thereafter, were cremated, and then there ashes were buried together under a gravestone that reads “Dead men are heavier than broken hearts,” a line from The Big Sleep. Go figure.
